Christmas Cooking Experience in the Koo Valley
Driving through the majestic Langeberg mountains, you feel as if you fall of the map and enter untouched territory. Â Nestled within these mountains is the The Koo Valley, home of fruit orchards, deep kloofs, and impressive mountain views. Â
Vrugtegeur Guest Farm is tranquil, family-owned fruit farm where one can enjoy these views, and was the home of our final Flour and Oil experience for 2025.
Petru Jordaan and her sister Corli, hosted a Christmas weekend for their friends at the Farm. On the Friday night we sipped wine and shared stories, and got treated to steaks perfectly braaied by Corli!
On Saturday morning we were spoilt with magnificent views for our 3 Course experience. The ladies got going with Samoosas, 3 pots of North Indian curries, each one with a different heat level, and finally condensed milk donuts for dessert!
While the pots were simmering we got deep and shared how we can make our interactions with people around matter.
How to speak life, hope and truth to each other. How to live like we are the light!
One of the highlights was handing over the very first Flour & Oil branded apron that I had commissioned and have worn to every course since making it. Corli very excitedly took over the apron, stating “I’m taking it with along with all Nicole’s je ne sais quoi that it comes with.
Giggles and tears were shared in equal amounts. By the time we ate, It felt like we really found the true Spirt of CHRISTmas.Â
