Auction Winners Enjoy Culinary Experience in Paarl
I was introduced to Lily and Johan Botha at a fund raiser auction in Paarl, earlier this year.
Held at the iconic Cathedral Cellar in Paarl, we were spoiled with a pairing of KWV products with meals by the renown Chef Mynhardt Joubert. This was nothing short of spectacular.Â
I was proud to be invited to the event as a sponsor, as funds were being raised at for national and international  missions.
After a wonderful flurry of bids, this couple ended up successfully securing a 3-course Flour & Oil experience for 6 people.
The first thing Lilly said to me was, “Since seeing your segment on Kwela, your course has been on my bucket list! I am so excited that we got to bid on it!“
The excitement did not end there. On arrival at their beautiful home in Paarl, the friends and family that they had invited to come and enjoy the experience with them, were as bubbly as the hosts themselves.Â
Their son JP was a full on foodie, making sure his mise en place was beautifully done before switching on his stove. I knew that with his wife Chrislee finishing my sentences on the how’s and the why’s, they had all they needed in the kitchen.Â
Their guests were all full of heart, and an absolute delight to interact with. At one point I was so engrossed in conversation that I forgot that this was a “working” event.Â
The last words that Lilly said to me was, “My wish came true.” Humbled and honoured by her words, I’m blessed to know that my interaction with her mattered!
